I always like it when psych students get into mbti.
they can approach it differently than most who haven't taken an interest in that direction. |
Hey, I appreciate the welcoming.
It's nice to be here.
In all honesty, I've been here maybe two hours and I feel like I found my home away from home. What a great community this is.
I am going to take it that you're a college student as well ... ? If so, what is your major? |
English and biznass managment.
i'm in my second year and i'm largely doing english right now. I'll balance out on the business next year hopefully. _________________ I Need To Prognosticate

Why did you choose psychology? |
Well, without having to go through my deep, personal philosophical reasons, there are some basic elements that went into my choice.
I've always been the type of person to question "what causes this and why" ... curious, you could say. I never went so far as to apply actual psychological approaches until I took the Intro Psych class. From there, I pretty much fell in love with this idea of self-understanding - so typical of an INFJ, I know. So I've taken to the search of discovering what underlies my behavior and why things usually happen the way they do.
Another reason is because I love people in general. Though quite introverted in my approach, I take great pleasure in just talking with people, problems or whatever, and just helping them figure things out. Actually, ever since I started college, I've grown a lot as a person. I was a very quiet person in high school - introverted to the 100th power. But now I'm just more accepting of myself, maturer, and confident in what I can bring out in people.
Also, nearing my heart-felt values, I had this drive within me to perform a duty of some sort to get a Psychology degree. I originally had it all mapped out in my mind that I at the very moment I declared I was going to become a Counselor of some sort. And that is very much the general direction I am leaning towards, though am questioning myself whether it is a too extroverted role for me. What the heck am I saying? If you're passionate about something, pursue it. Period. So it's either that or maybe something in Human Resources where I would feel most comfortable. I'm learning about myself everyday, and still figuring it out, so don't let these paragraphs fool you; I'm very much a Newbie. That's where I'm heading right now in hope my Psych degree can get me there. *exhales* |
I guess every intro Psych thing I've read just doesn't cut it for me
(we (and people taking them now) just always did basic things like social conditioning
I didn't find that all that interesting)
Try to look away from introversion and extroversion
they are simply placeholders
look into contextualization (especially in the real world)
My behavior switch just because it is a few degrees warmer
or possibly because I woke up and there was a bad song on the radio
or loads of other things
Myself? I'm majoring in Geographic Information Systems
laying sheets of data over each other and analyzing the trends
