I have 4 television sets in my house, but i use them for more interesting and worthwhile pursuits such as Xbox, Playstation, and DVD.

While I think TV is absolute crap, I do like film. Many of these movies you mention being free and on TV well---they might be mini-series or (gag) made-for-TV movies. You get what you pay for.

Now and then, when i catch a glimpse of TV i don't miss it at all. The last time i saw it there was a commercial depicting the perfect family, everyone was happy and fulfilled, smiling and laughing. All the dad needed to do to please everyone and achieve domestic perfection in the nuclear family was to purchase an SUV.

I don't miss it at all.
