Any suggestions for good American music artists? I need to get more artists for my music collection.

Note: This exclude boyband/girlbands. I would not consider them unless it's only one guy or girl singing throughout the songs. No group-singers in other words.

Examples: Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Vanessa Carlton

Why american? Oh well, I like this american band called VAST. I think their pretty awesome, at least some of them songs them made. "Pretty when you cry" and "Touched" seem to be popular, and "My TV and you". At least I like em songs.

Well, I personally find that kind of music gay, so you probably wouldn't like my music... but, anyway...

Tetragrammaton
Drunkship of Lanterns
Abortion, the Other White Meat

I'm pretty much mainstream. If I see any mention of artists on mainstream radio stations like Kiss 108, I'll download them.

Here's what I listen to: Japanese Pop/Rock: Dir en grey, Gackt, Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Rurutia

American Pop/Rock/Rap: Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Garbage, Sum 41, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake, Nickelback, Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne, Blink 182, Chris Daughtry, No Doubt, Green Day, Hoobastank, Kanye West, Nelly Furtado, Gwen Stefani, Michelle Branch, U2

And Rocky, I just saw some of those Mars Volta video. They seem like they make a lot of unusual sounds with the guitar, but it doesn't correlate with the beat of the music. The singing doesn't even correlate with the music.

Not all American but similar to what you like

Hinder (not my type but like Nickelback)
The Gathering - Home (Garbageish)
Faith No More - Angel Dust
KMFDM - Nihil
Chevelle - Wonder What's Next (like Tool and Hoobastank)
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations (reminds me of U2 and Radiohead)
Offspring - Americana, Ignition, Smash
Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance (like Tool and Hoobastank)

Well, "Abortion, the Other White Meat" was a complete improve session, so I guess I can see what you are saying there. But "Drunkship"? That's an awsome song.

It does sound good.

I figured out what the song was they had on their site a while back that I liked, it was The Widow. I tripped over a cover of it on youtube

There is hope for me yet as a rock star cause I can sing better than that bitch. She makes it sound so plodding, trying to sound "intense" by emphasising every word. She just doesn't have a soaring, shivering voice like Cedric's.

Yeah, that's a terrible cover, and that song's the only one of theirs that really gets an radio time. Probably because it's only 3:30 minutes, doesn't have any Spanish lyrics, or dense riffs. It's still OK though. But I still don't like "pop" music. I'm fine letting everyone else listen to their three-minute pansy songs while I listen to my twenty-minute TMV songs. Razz (And as long as people don't tell me my music is stupid, I don't care if they don't wanna listen to it).

You're just afraid of how much MORE you will want me if I turn into a TMV fan. Twisted Evil

HAHA, I knew you were going to say it's TMV lite. I know that, but at least it's the whole song, it's hard to get into little fragments.

(edited for punctuational spasticity.)

(BTW I went and listened to the TMV version once I knew what the song was called, not just to pitty.)

Cool

You don't remember the albums do you? Or how long they were?

(The first video I posted is from their third album, and 16:40 seconds long, the second is about 7 minutes recorded, and from their first, the third one is an improve session, and the last is a song from Flea and John Frusicante from the Red Hot Chili Peppers who also play on the Volta albums, and Omar, who composes and directs all the music for them).
