Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the greatest album
Magnum Opus of the Beatles? For sure;
I'd even push it to as [sic] of modern music.

No arguing it, I will refuse to listen Smile

I'd say Sgt. Pepper is overrated, but that's overdiscussed Razz
Nowhere near as overrated as VU&Nico, Nevermind or Plastic Ono Band though.. it IS pretty, though stuff like Lovely Rita or Fixing a Hole is so damn NOT interesting, entertaining or good in any way.. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Cocker's cover of With a Little Help?

Anyway, the White Album was their peak, no question. That's when they discovered how to make a flawless album by embracing the flaws. The coolest album ever.

Nope: Side 4
it is extremely boring and most of it should have been vetoed
(I like how voting was 4-to-1 against Revolution 9, yet it stayed on the album (sarcasm))

And also, The Beatles was simply a satire
I love that aspect though
people listening to it and not realizing that they're just trying to play around with The Beach Boys and Bob Dylan
(as well as current events)

favorite from it are Helter Skelter, Birthday, Yer Blues, Wild Honey Pie, Why don't we do it in the road?, and Happiness Is A Warm Gun
(and Hey Jude and Revolution ; but they don't count Sad )
and mind you Yer Blues is a nice joke upon "all these kids want now a days is blues"
Why don't we do it in the road? is about monkey fucking

how fun

Why do I think it isn't as good as Pepper's ?
Everything after Helter Skelter.

All said, I still love how the album is a giant parody, 'brah'

--

Sgt. Pepper's, plus the two singles, is just amazing
Lovely Rita introduced some new cymbal recording techniques
Good Morning has some sweet double bass drums and animals
ah, I just love it alllllllllll

--

Hm, Revolver... Taxman and Eleanor Rigby
I didn't really like it beyond those

--

I don't like Rubber Soul...... .. shh. I feel that people get angry at me for saying that

--

Anyways, Paul McCartney is my hero and I love him.

--

But wait?! What about the later stuff
Abbey Road has some good ones, (I Want You / She's So Heavy)
The outro is simply amazing. It is like one giant spectacle
Here Comes The Sun is my favorite Beatles song despite George not being my favorite

I never got into Let It Be.

--

Pre-Revolver? Well, I stated my opinion on Rubber Soul
I'd say the only pre-Revolver song I like is Help!
the rest of them are just kinda bubble-gum 50-60's pop dodododo

Its joke quality is why I love it so much... they realized it's impossible to make a perfect album, so they just make a scrapbook of 28 random songs, 8 minutes of random noise and a lullaby. I do get extremely bored with stuff like Ob-la-di or Don't Pass Me By but they contribute to the whole sound... It might just suck as a debut, but it was just the thing to do at that time in their career.
Revolution 1 > Revolution Razz
(and Revolution 9 beats them both but I'm kind of ashamed of that opinion Very Happy)

As far as proper Beatles albums go, my heart belongs to Magical Mystery Tour... seriously it's so much more inventive and interesting than Sgt. Pepper in my eyes... Strawberry Fields Forever might just be my favorite Beatles song, next to Tomorrow Never Knows
All You Need Is Love has some of the best lyrics ever
"There's nothing you can do, but you can learn how to be you in time"

Agree about Let It Be, I like the title track but the album's mostly pretty shit to be honest, The End would've been a perfect end for their career.

These days I even got into their early stuff, now that I don't need my music to be smart, my mind is open and I see how awesome they could be.

Not to bust your chops, but the last half of Magical Mystery Tour isn't part of it. Only the first few songs are. The last are singles that they included to make the EP into an LP. (I Am The Walrus/Hello Goodbye ; Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane ; Baby You're A Rich Man ; All You Need Is Love)

I also enjoy the LP (I like the EP too) Smile Smile

and to double bust your chops,
Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane IS the singles I was talking about when I was talking about Sgt. Pepper's
SFF was actually the first song recorded in the Sgt. Pepper's sessions.

SO HAH HAH HAH Smile Smile Smile

George is my favourite. With all the adoration that goes to Lennon and McCartney, I feel that not enough love gets to George.

The Beatles is one of those bands that I don't really get tired of, but I'll stop listening for a while then be in the mood for them again. Much like this forum Laughing I snuck some catchy songs onto my 10-year-old sister's iPod and she loves them Very Happy
