Anyone see it?
I haven't yet, but I know it's about the dynamics between Billy Martin and George Steinbrenner. I've always thought these two had an ISTP-ISTJ relationship. I mean, Steinbrenner hired and fired Martin five times (and was about to hire him a sixth time before Marint died). _________________ tu fui ego eris

Finally, the Bronx is no more. I'm sick of hearing about that name. _________________ Wrath Angel

You could try explaining what the hell you are talking about, for us non-seppos. What is it, a movie? Who are these men? |

It is a mini-series on TV, but it's based on the summer of 1977 in the Bronx.
George Steinbrenner is the owner of the NY Yankees, and Billy Martin was the manager at the time.
They were known for their love-hate type relationship. They would always be arguing about what to do, then agreeing, then arguing again. Martin kept on getting fired, and hired, and fired, and hired, and fired, until he died in a car accident.
I tried to find good footage of them, but the only thing I could find were a couple commercials, like the one I posted, but they do poke fun at the whole never-ending disagreement thing between the two. _________________ tu fui ego eris

I've watched bits of it. It's actually based on a book by Jonathan Mahler (the full title of the book is Ladies and Gentlemen, The Bronx is Burning in reference to an announcer's comment about a fire breaking out in The Bronx in '77). There's also the subplot of the Son of Sam killer.
I know that the real Steinbrenner joked about being unhappy with the way he was being portrayed on the show, saying that they never show a kinder, gentler George and criticizing the hairdo of the actor who plays him.
The dynamic between The Boss and Billy Martin is quite amusing, though. And they even did the "Great Taste, Less Filling" thing before Miller Lite started having women get into catfights like this one. _________________ ISTP

Some how I think it's more of a New York thing. Aussie typically wouldn't be interested in that show. _________________ tu fui ego eris

It's on ESPN, so I doubt Aussies would be able to get it, unless they have satellite TV or something. _________________ ISTP

You mean like Seinfeld, Sex in the City, NYPD Blue, Homicide: Life on the Street, and the other 50 million shows we see that are set in NY? I probably know my way around the place better than you do. |

I don't know, it's more of a documentary. I didn't think they showed this kind of show around the world. _________________ tu fui ego eris
