I try not to bind the beauty of the moment with my forefathers' mysticisms. It is swell enough without referring to the printed word.

Stuckasfook, "deep rumination". That sounds like me.
Romana has stated that even though I am a "feeler", I give emphasis to
rational thought.
I take that as a compliment.
I think my problem is that I think too much.

Does it really run you into problems? Things that can be worked out? Or, more like impasses?

I over think things.
For every scenario I can see 10 possibilities.
It is a personal aberration, that I wrestle with.
i'll overcome it

Me, too.
I find that having a person at whom to ramble about all of the possibilities helps me.

I agree it helps to have a person to sound off ideas.
Once they (the ideas) are verbalized, they can be looked at more objectively.

As an introvert, that is a problem.
There is a trust issue.
Before revealing secret thoughts and feelings.

It is a quandary.
This forum helps get out all kinds of thoughts that I have been dying lo get out.
This helps define my personal philosophy.

What is the opposite of wisdom...ignorance?
What is ignorance?
A matter of none reflection.
A matter of NOT listening.
A matter of using labels and pejoratives.
A matter of attacking and not opening up dialogue with critical
thinking.

Ignorance, "words tend to go in one ear and out the other".

Can we learn to listen?.
Can we learn to reflect?
Can we learn to not attack, but build bridges instead?
Can we learn to work with each other vs. against?

All if these skills should be taught in the school systems and parenting classes,
if society wants t move forward.

"THE ANSWERS ARE WITHIN" us all!

A true guru, (I am not) asks QUESTIONS, "leading" the person,
or persons to the "truth"!

The guru is above "EGO", having TRANSCENDED it.
When one is on the path;
When one has transcended ego & self esteem:
When one is searching for the truth, & found a modicum of
"truth" & wishes to share this "truth",
Then one wishes the best for the 2nd party
One questions
And LEADS to the truth &
Awareness to the other party
By QUESTIONING! (like Socrates).
A "SIGN" of "wisdom" is having benevolent wishes for others &
"NOT" project one's own ego into the equation!

We have "TWO" ears and
one mouth. We should learn to "LISTEN", reflect,
more than we
"SPEAK", and thus spread our "IGNORANCE"!!

I do not claim to have the answer to how one develops wisdom. I think necessary conditions include time and diversity of experience. These are related in the sense that, over time, one has the chance to encounter a greater diversity of experiences. I see diversity as important because it causes us to expand our understanding beyond what we already know and feel comfortable with.

I reckon strong empathy can be a short cut to wisdom

Overall, you acquire more wisdom from your beatings than you do from your winnings

Much wisdom is learned from conflict

Conflict is good

Otherwise we become couch potatoes.....soft of body.....soft of mind.......and sick of soul

Ape, "Overall, you acquire more wisdom from your beatings than you
do from your winnings. Much wisdom is learned from conflict."
I generally tentatively agree.
Usually the emotional turmoil from the "beatings" could have been
prevented.
The "conflict" highlights our own ignorance.
We deal with the situation in an "UNREALISTIC" manner, thus adding to
our misery.
Reality is reality.
We make it out to be much worse became of our immaturity.

When you fight for others rights, is that not conflict?

Are some conflicts good and some bad?

Ape, the answer to both your questions is yes.
We need to fight for fairness, and justice and RIGHTS.
If the conflict is to instill the above then it is a positive conflict.
If the conflict is to instill a totalitarian regime, then obviously it is
negative.
It is all about intentions and how one goes about securing freedom
and justice.
